Discount grocery chain WinCo Foods is set to enter Texas with the opening of two stores on Thursday (6 February).

The two stores will be located in the cities of Fort Worth and McKinney’s. They will employ 330 employees in total and will span approximately 95,000 square feet each.

The main sales floor of each store encompasses a large fresh produce department, bulk foods, meat, deli, seafood, and bakery service departments. The bulk foods department allows customers to buy only the amount they want and displays over 900 items, including natural food products, some organics, snacks, candies, cereals, flours, pastas, spices and more.

WinCo is an employee-owned retailer with 93 stores and four distribution centers. Texas becomes the seventh state in which WinCo has stores. The company is in the process of building a new distribution centre in Phoenix that will service stores in Arizona, Southern California and Southern Nevada.
