Matthews, NC-based supermarket retailer Harris Teeter is voluntarily recalling Harris Teeter Premium Ground Beef that was purchased at its Six Forks Road store in Raleigh, North Carolina on 18 or 19 June, 2002.


The sell by date on the package is 06/19/02.


The company explained that while no illnesses have been reported, the meat may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7. Any meat cooked thoroughly to a temperature of 160°F poses no health risk, but customers who have purchased this meat should return it to the store of purchase for a full refund.
