Nestlé is investing around EUR1.9m (US$2.1m) to expand its condensed milk factory in the Galicia region of Spain.
The money will be spent on constructing two new filling lines at the factory in Pontecesures. The Switzerland-based company said the new lines will have a faster filling speed.

The plant’s first new filling line, which is scheduled to go into operation in November, is to be equipped with technology that provides greater precision and increases the product’s useful life, the company said. The technology will also allow for the filling of containers of different sizes.
The second new line is set to be operational in July next year and will unify the filling of formats which are currently carried out on separate lines.
With a workforce of around 170, the Pontecesures factory produces both condensed and cooked milk – cocido de leche – made with local Galician milk.
The factory produced 51,000 tonnes of milk in 2018. Some 60% of this is exported to the Middle East, Europe, Central Africa and the Maghreb.
