The health benefits of oily fish such as mackerel and salmon have risen to prominence in recent years, and new research indicates that it could protect people against asthma.

Scientists at Cambridge University studied more than 750 participants in a study, some of whom suffer from asthma and some of whom do not. Those asthma sufferers who ate oily fish appeared to suffer fewer symptoms than those who did not, such as wheeziness or breathlessness.
