The HACCP International certification mark is proudly carried by many of the world’s leading companies, confirming their products’ fitness of purpose for use in the food industry, and the most recent to join that group is ISS Hicare, the first pest control company to achieve certification in India.

Leading food businesses strive hard to meet the exacting requirements of the world-leading food safety standards. Nowadays, very important conformance components centre not just on food handling practices and ingredients but also on other products and services that impact upon food safety. In this area, there is nothing more important than pest management.

The risks presented by pests are great and so too is the activity of on-site contractors working in high risk environments. The effectiveness, practices and reporting of the pest control company are vital. Leading food businesses have to pay particular attention to the quality of such services and the conformance of the contractor to exacting pre-requisites.

HACCP International’s certification confirms the ability of that certified company to offer fully compliant food-safe services, meeting all the requirements of the world’s leading food safety schemes. In this process, ISS Hicare’s standard operating procedures (SOPs), food safety training, documentation, materials chemicals, as well as their on-site delivery have been thoroughly scrutinised through an audit process to confirm the company’s ability to meet the needs of the food businesses operating HACCP-based food safety programmes to the world’s highest standards.

"This will give a major thrust to the company’s focus on delivering best-in-class pest management services to the food industry."

Bill Simos, managing director of HACCP International’s operations in Asia, said: "The standards required for such certification are high and ISS Hicare’s ability to deliver a service to the food industry that meets world’s best in terms of food safety is very pleasing to see. The Indian Food Industry is undergoing many new law changes to address food safety and pest control service providers need to meet the highest of international expectations. I congratulate ISS Hicare on being able to demonstrate this at their main Delhi branch."

"ISS Hicare’s certificate of conformance should see them prequalify for any food industry work – being the only local company to carry recognised third-party certification of conformance. I am sure the food industry will take note of the diligence with which they have approached the crafting and execution of their services," he added.

Mr. Rajan Prakash, vice president of ISS Hicare India, said: "I am delighted with the company’s achievement, particularly with this being the first time a pest management company has achieved such certification in India."

Mr Joydeep Sarkar, COO of ISS Hicare, commented: "This will give a major thrust to the company’s focus on delivering best-in-class pest management services to the food industry."
