Process Components offers a broad portfolio of products and services ranging from the original and world-renowned Mucon iris diaphragm valve (IDV) through to spares and consumables for all manner of food, pharmaceutical and chemical processing equipment.

Our spares and machine maintenance service can provide everything you will need to efficiently operate your impact / hammer mills, cone mills, PPS air classifier mills, kibblers, centrifugal sifters, gardner mixers and blenders.

Process control valves

We supply a range of high-quality process control valves. The iris diaphragm valve, or IDV, provides a simple method of controlling the flow and isolation of bulk solids. Our range extends from the simple H-Series bin discharge version, through to the easy clean hygienic K-Series with its injection-moulded diaphragm.

Mucon also boasts a range of swinging arm disc valves. The disc and the face to which it seals are angled to prevent the valve jamming in the closed position. The valve can be operated manually or by pneumatic or electric linear actuators.

Our butterfly valves are grouped into two categories; hygienic and general purpose. The hygienic types offer quick disconnect, and easy clean attributes, while our general purpose types provide a more conventional range, more able to cope with extreme environments and high pressures.

Relatively new to the Mucon range is our slide valve. The valve has an entirely stainless-steel blade combining the handle, which should stand up to the attentions of even the most enthusiastic of operators.

Bin discharge equipment

An additional range of products under the Mucon banner are flow promotion products: the Promoflow, Powderflo Aerator and the NP vibrator.

The Promoflow provides a retrofittable solution to bin or silo discharge problems. The Promoflow is virtually silent in operation and as we say, "only shakes the contents, not the bin". It even comes in a Mini range for very small hoppers or tubes.

The Powderflow Aerator provides an extremely low-cost solution to a number of product hang-up problems. Compact and simple to install, the sintered aerator pad provides a jet of compressed gas into the bridged product, locally fluidising the product, encouraging it to flow.

NP vibrators, when applied correctly, provide a tried and tested method for improved powder flow by vibrating the hopper.

Process equipment spares

Process equipment for us encompasses the following product groups: centrifugal sifters, universal / hammer mills, air classifier mills, cone mills, kibblers / nibblers, ribbon mixers, plough shear mixers, blenders and associated basic control equipment.

Our available spares resources for these types of machines are extremely extensive; contact us for more information.

Sifter screens

Our mesh hoses are available in nylon, polyester, anti-static nylon and both carbon and stainless steel. In many materials we can offer aperture sizes from 10µm up to 5,000µm, in all manner of shapes and sizes to suit all the top sifter brands.

Sieving requirements are becoming more stringent, with ever-reducing mesh sizes being specified by end users, so it is vital that we are able to assist our customers by not only manufacturing their screens, but also helping to predict the effect any change is likely to have on sieving throughput rates.

Many customers are moving away from traditional mesh screens, migrating to wedge wire technology. The very robust welded mesh, manufactured from fine wedge-shaped strands, has a greatly increased life expectancy but, should it fail, the ferritic stainless-steel construction makes it attractive to magnets.

Milling consumables

We can help specify and provide all manner of grinding media. Whether it is pin and disc configuration or a turbine and screen solution we can provide parts and technical / process support.

Our experience with air classifier mills allows us to provide consumable parts to the original manufacturer’s specifications, including classifiers, pins, bar hammers, discs, liners and much more.

We also offer cones for cone mills and screens for kibblers or nibblers, all backed by our process know-how.

Machine service and repair of mill and sifter bearing assemblies

For the many varieties of bearing assemblies fitted to mills and larger sifters, we offer a strip and inspect service followed by a full refurbishment, as well as supplying new.

We are able to service and repair all the machines from our traditional brands, carrying out this work on a contractual or ad hoc basis. We currently maintain the centrifugal sieving machines for ten of the eleven Warburtons bakeries in the UK – just one example from a long list of machine service, maintenance and breakdown repairs carried out in the UK and much further afield.
