Management Occupations drive consumer industry hiring activity

Management Occupations, with a share of 10% new job postings, was the occupation with the greatest hiring activity in the European consumer industry in Q2 2024 , ahead of Business and Financial Operations Occupations with a 6% share of new job postings.

The other prominent roles included Office and Administrative Support Occupations with a 6% share in Q2 2024, Sales and Related Occupations with a 5% share and Computer and Mathematical Occupations with a 4% share of new job postings.

Top five companies accounted for 20% of hiring activity

The top five companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined 20% of the overall hiring activity in the European consumer industry in Q2 2024.

LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton posted 2,998 jobs in Q2 2024 and registered a decline of 24% over the previous quarter, followed by Arcelik with 2,750 jobs and a 79% drop. Nestle, with 1,896 jobs, and Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, with 1,484 jobs, recorded a 20% drop and a 64% rise, respectively, while Pandora recorded a 20% increase with a 1,355 new job postings during Q2 2024.

Regional analysis of hiring in the European consumer industry, Q2 2024

France held the leading share of the European consumer hiring activity with a 19.20% share, a 21% decrease over Q1 2024. the UK was next with 16.47%, four-percentage-point up over the previous quarter.
