Food industry cross border venture financing deals total $964.2m globally in Q2 2022

Total Food industry cross border venture financing deals worth $964.2m were announced globally in Q2 2022, led by $400m venture financing of Upside Foods, according to GlobalData’s deals database.

The value marked an increase of 133.8% over the previous quarter and a rise of 28.9% when compared with the last four-quarter average, which stood at $748.08m.

Comparing cross border deals value in different regions of the globe, North America held the top position, with total announced deals worth $515.18m in the period. At the country level, the US topped the list in terms of deal value at $502.2m.

In terms of volumes, Asia-Pacific emerged as the top region for Food industry cross border venture financing deals globally, followed by North America and then Europe.

The top country in terms of cross border venture financing deals activity in Q2 2022 was the US with six deals, followed by Israel with three and Republic of Korea (South Korea) with three.
