Asia-Pacific witnessed a 6.3% drop in IT hiring activity in the food industry in July 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.

July 2022 has seen a decrease of 3.85% in the overall hiring activity when compared with June 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 3.78% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2022, registering a decrease of 0.11% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in July 2022

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 34.76% in July 2022, an 18.57% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 32.32% in July 2022, marking a 1.92% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 24.39% in July 2022, a 4.76% drop from June 2022.

Database and Network Administrators and Architects registered a share of 7.32% in July 2022, a 57.14% decline over the previous month.

Top five food companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 8.57% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s food industry during July 2022 over previous month.

Unternehmensgruppe Theo Muller S.e.c.s. posted 53 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a decline of 20.9% over the previous month, followed by Charoen Pokphand Foods Public with 40 jobs and a 17.65% growth. Masan Group with 17 IT jobs and Nestle with 9 jobs, recorded a 54.55% rise and a 40% drop, respectively, while General Mills recorded a 30.77% decline with 9 job postings during July 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s food industry

India commanded a leading presence in the region’s food industry IT hiring activity with a 69.51% share in July 2022, a 21.38% decrease over June 2022. Vietnam featured next with a 10.37% share, up 54.55% over the previous month. New Zealand recorded a 6.1% share, a growth of 42.86% compared with June 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 78.66%, down by 8.51% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 15.24% share, registered a decline of 34.21% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 5.49% share, down 25% over June 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.61%, recording a month-on-month decline of 75%.
