August 2022 has seen a decrease of 5.81% in the overall hiring activity when compared with July 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 3.16% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in August 2022, registering a decrease of 0.12% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in August 2022

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 38.89% in August 2022, a 41.67% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 27.22% in August 2022, marking a 7.55% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 17.78% in August 2022, a 13.51% drop from July 2022.

Top five food companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 34.21% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s food industry during August 2022 over previous month.

Nestle posted 35 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a decline of 7.89% over the previous month, followed by HelloFresh with 19 jobs and a 62% drop. Cherkizovo Group with 18 IT jobs and Unternehmensgruppe Theo Muller S.e.c.s. with 17 jobs, recorded a 33.33% drop and a 32% drop, respectively, while Unibel recorded an 8.33% decline with 11 job postings during August 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s food industry

Germany commanded a leading presence in the region’s food industry IT hiring activity with a 24.44% share in August 2022, a 29.03% decrease over July 2022. The UK featured next with a 19.44% share, down 16.67% over the previous month. France recorded a 12.78% share, a growth of 4.55% compared with July 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 73.89%, down by 29.26% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 15.56% share, registered a decline of 9.68% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 10.56% share, up 11.76% over July 2022.
