
Europe witnessed a 2.4% rise in IT hiring activity in the food industry in May 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.
May 2022 has seen an increase of 0.7% in the overall hiring activity when compared with April 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 2.05% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in May 2022, registering an increase of 0.22% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in May 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 42.33% in May 2022, a 9.21% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 27.61% in May 2022, marking a 33.82% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 17.79% in May 2022, a 12.12% drop from April 2022.
Computer and Information Analysts registered a share of 7.98% in May 2022, a 13.33% decline over the previous month.
Top five food companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in May 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 16.9% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s food industry during May 2022 over previous month.
Unternehmensgruppe Theo Muller S.e.c.s. posted 31 IT jobs in May 2022 and registered an increase of 342.86% over the previous month, followed by Cherkizovo Group with 30 jobs and a 25% growth. Nestle with 29 IT jobs and Lotus Bakeries with 18 jobs, recorded a 69.47% drop and a 38.46% rise, respectively, while Mars recorded a 233.33% increase with 10 job postings during May 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s food industry
The UK commanded a leading presence in the region’s food industry IT hiring activity with a 26.38% share in May 2022, a 43.33% increase over April 2022. Russia featured next with a 22.09% share, up 50% over the previous month. Germany recorded a 19.02% share, a growth of 10.71% compared with April 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 81.6%, down by 16.35% from April 2022. Mid Level positions with an 11.66% share, registered a decline of 36.67% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 6.75% share, down 8.33% over April 2022.
