India’s food industry registered a 20.7% rise in IT hiring activity in May 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 9.76% in May 2022 when compared with April 2022.

Out of the food industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 3.45% share in May 2022, recording an increase of 0.5% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in India’s food industry’s IT recruitment activity in May 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s food industry in May 2022.

1) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations recorded a share of 39.13% in May 2022, registering a 56.52% growth over the previous month.

2) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers claimed a 28.26% share, a decrease of 16.13% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 21.74%, registering an 81.82% rise from April 2022.

4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 5.43%, down 37.5% over the previous month.

Top five food companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in May 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 25.71% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s food industry during May 2022 over April 2022.

Unternehmensgruppe Theo Muller S.e.c.s. posted 36 IT jobs in May 2022 and registered a rise of 176.92% over the previous month, followed by Nestle with 22 jobs and a 51.11% drop. Charoen Pokphand Foods Public with 14 IT jobs and Bundl Technologies Private with 8 jobs, recorded a 40% growth and a flat growth, respectively, while General Mills recorded an increase of 300% with 8 job postings during May 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 84.78%, up by 6.85% from April 2022. Mid Level positions with a 10.87% share, registered an increase of 66.67% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 4.35% share, up 300% over April 2022.
