May 2022 has seen an increase of 97.69% in the overall hiring activity when compared with April 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 0.36% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in May 2022, registering a decrease of 0.54% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in May 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 40% in May 2022, a 6.8% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 20.36% in May 2022, marking a 42.86% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 16.73% in May 2022, a 36.11% drop from April 2022.
Miscellaneous Computer Occupations registered a share of 15.64% in May 2022, a 38.57% decline over the previous month.
Top five food companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in May 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 43.75% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s food industry during May 2022 over previous month.
Nestle posted 51 IT jobs in May 2022 and registered a decline of 43.33% over the previous month, followed by The J. R. Simplot with 32 jobs and a 55.56% drop. Rich Products with 24 IT jobs and HelloFresh with 19 jobs, recorded a 57.89% drop and a flat growth, respectively, while Bunge recorded a flat growth with 18 job postings during May 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s food industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s food industry IT hiring activity with a 93.45% share in May 2022, a 26.36% decrease over April 2022. Canada featured next with a 5.45% share, up 7.14% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 1.09% share, a flat growth compared with April 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 65.82%, down by 31.18% from April 2022. Mid Level positions with a 17.09% share, registered a decline of 2.08% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 12.73% share, down 18.6% over April 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 4.36%, recording a month-on-month growth of 33.33%.
