June 2022 has seen a decrease of 42.41% in the overall hiring activity when compared with May 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 0.82% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in June 2022, registering a decrease of 0.24% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in June 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 25.59% in June 2022, a 32.03% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 23.24% in June 2022, marking a 17.71% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 22.65% in June 2022, a 9.41% drop from May 2022.
Miscellaneous Computer Occupations registered a share of 14.41% in June 2022, a 10.91% decline over the previous month.
Top five food companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 22.81% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s food industry during June 2022 over previous month.
The J. R. Simplot posted 102 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered an increase of 72.88% over the previous month, followed by Rich Products with 38 jobs and a 5% drop. Bunge with 29 IT jobs and HelloFresh with 21 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 10.53% rise, respectively, while JBS recorded a 16.67% decline with 20 job postings during June 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s food industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s food industry IT hiring activity with a 95.29% share in June 2022, a 12.9% decrease over May 2022. Canada featured next with a 3.24% share, down 54.17% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 1.47% share, a growth of 25% compared with May 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 66.76%, down by 13.03% from May 2022. Mid Level positions with a 17.35% share, registered a decline of 19.18% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 13.24% share, down 18.18% over May 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 2.65%, recording a month-on-month decline of 18.18%.
