August 2022 has seen a decrease of 3.33% in the overall hiring activity when compared with July 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 0.81% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in August 2022, registering a decrease of 0.4% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in August 2022

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 31.43% in August 2022, a 12.24% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 23.71% in August 2022, marking a 62.75% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 23.71% in August 2022, an 8.79% drop from July 2022.

Top five food companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 46.72% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s food industry during August 2022 over previous month.

The J. R. Simplot posted 73 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by Nestle with 45 jobs and a 42.31% drop. Bunge with 32 IT jobs and Gordon Food Service with 28 jobs, recorded a 21.95% drop and a flat growth, respectively, while HelloFresh recorded a 27.78% increase with 23 job postings during August 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s food industry

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s food industry IT hiring activity with a 91.43% share in August 2022, a 26.98% increase over July 2022. Mexico featured next with a 5.14% share, down 41.94% over the previous month. Canada recorded a 3.43% share, a drop of 25% compared with July 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 59.14%, up by 29.38% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 22% share, registered a decline of 3.75% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 12.57% share, down 2.22% over July 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 6.29%, recording a month-on-month growth of 57.14%.
