The UK’s food industry registered a 27.1% rise in IT hiring activity in May 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 8.39% in May 2022 when compared with April 2022.
Out of the food industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 3.12% share in May 2022, recording an increase of 1.13% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the UK’s food industry’s IT recruitment activity in May 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s food industry in May 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 44.19% in May 2022, registering a 171.43% growth over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 41.86% share, an increase of 100% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 11.63%, registering a 28.57% decline from April 2022.
4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 2.33%, flat growth over the previous month.
Top five food companies in the UK’s IT recruitment activity in May 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 272.73% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s food industry during May 2022 over April 2022.
Unternehmensgruppe Theo Muller S.e.c.s. posted 31 IT jobs in May 2022 and registered a rise of 342.86% over the previous month, followed by Mars with 4 jobs and a 100% growth. Roofoods with 3 IT jobs and Intersnack Group GmbHKG with 2 jobs, recorded a 50% growth and a flat growth, respectively, while HelloFresh recorded a flat growth with 1 job postings during May 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 83.72%, up by 24.14% from April 2022. Entry Level positions with a 16.28% share, registered an increase of 600% compared with the previous month.
