North America extended its dominance in the hiring for jobs linked to the Internet of things (IoT) among food industry companies in the three months ending May.

The number of roles in North America made up 51.7% of total IoT jobs – up from 29.5% in the same quarter last year.

That was followed by Asia-Pacific, which saw a 4.9 year-on-year percentage point change in IoT roles.

Which countries are seeing the most growth for IoT job ads in the food industry?

The fastest growing country was the US, which accounted for 25.4% of all IoT job adverts in the three months ending May 2021 but 48.9% in the three months ending May this year.

That was followed by India (up 4.9 percentage points), Canada (1.5), and Switzerland (1.1).

Which cities and locations are the biggest hubs for IoT workers in the food industry?

Some 21.3% of all food industry IoT roles were advertised in Suresnes in France in the three months ending May.

That was followed by Mission (the US) with 14.9%, Hyderabad (India) with 5.2% and York (the US), also with 5.2%.
