2 Sisters Food Group has set out plans to cut around 80 jobs at its Fox's biscuits plant in Batley, West Yorkshire.
The UK company said it had started talks over the proposals at the site, which employs 910 staff.
"We can confirm we have entered into a period of consultation with some of our colleagues at our site in Batley. It is far too early to say what impact this will have, but some roles will regrettably be at risk of redundancy," 2 Sisters said.
"However, we will be working hard with colleagues to minimise the impact of our proposals and look at all alternative options, including voluntary redundancy, redeployments and the creation of some new roles."
The company would not be drawn on why it was considering the cuts.
Last month, 2 Sisters confirmed it was in talks with staff at its Llangefni poultry plant in Wales over changes to shift patterns at the site. The company said a number of roles would be at risk of redundancy, although it did not put a number on the number of jobs that could go. Reports suggested 300 positions could be at risk.
