In July 2002, trade and investment experts from Ghana and Uganda will arrive in the UK, bringing with them details of opportunities for British companies to engage in partnerships and collaborative ventures in their two countries.

Together with staff at the UK Investment and Technology Promotion Office, the two delegates will be working as part of UNIDO’s Africa Investment Promotion Agency Network initiative.

The great majority of the projects in the delegates’ portfolios will focus on the agro-processing sector, which is a vital component of the two countries’ economies and a sector in which there is considerable potential for UK organisations with technical and commercial expertise. Prior to their presentation, all opportunities will be independently examined and evaluated by UNIDO specialists in order to verify the data and to ensure the best possible match with British companies’ particular investment criteria.

Organised in conjunction with Trade Partners UK’s Global Partnerships Initiative, the visit is timed to coincide with the 2002 Royal Show (1-4 July), at which the UK ITPO will share a stand with DEFRA and TPUK. This will provide an excellent opportunity for UK companies meet the delegates in order to discuss possible projects or simply to learn more about the market conditions in Ghana and Uganda.
