Arla Foods has teamed up with Danish ice cream producer Premier Is to launch a range of frozen yoghurt products in their domestic market.
Yoggi Frozen is the dairy co-operative's latest attempt to gain a foothold in what it called a "very interesting" market.

"We launched Frozen Skyr last year, but that was a niche product with a relatively low revenue base. Yoggi Frozen Yoghurt presents much broader sales potential, as we see it," a spokesperson for Arla told just-food today (5 March).
"The fro-yo wave hit Denmark last year with the opening of several frozen yoghurt shops, where consumers can combine yoghurt ice cream with different toppings. The frozen yoghurt ice cream market is very interesting to Arla, since it is a completely new category for us. We have identified room in the market for this type of product in Denmark, and believe Danish consumers will receive this type of product well."
The product is based on an Arla yoghurt recipe. The base is manufactured at Arla's Brabrand Dairy and delivered to Premier Is, which coats and freezes the yoghurt.
Yoggi Frozen is sold in a pack of four and in a "family-sized" 800ml container in flavours including strawberry, vanilla and tropical fruit, the Arla spokesperson said.

The Arla spokesperson said: "In 2015 Arla is aiming to follow new trends and claim new market positions where we have not been present traditionally."
He said there were "no specific" international launches "to reveal at this point" but added: "It cannot be ruled out."
