Australian confectionery group Darrell Lea is reportedly looking to streamline its domestic operations to focus on its export business.
The privately-owned group said long-term planning is vital to ensure the company’s future in a competitive market, according to the AAP news agency yesterday (28 June).
Revenue from Darrell Lea’s export business is said to have risen 12% in the past four years, boosted by sales of the company’s liquorice.
The company’s strategy is reported to include the streamlining of its domestic manufacturing and sales channels, while building a higher profile for the Darrell Lea confectionary brand.
Officials from Darrell Lea could not be reached for comment as just-food went to press.
