Freedom Foods Group, the Australian free-from cereal and snacks firm, has expanded its product range with the launch of a long-life non dairy quinoa-based milk.
The company said the quinoa milk, which also features chia, would capitalise on the “strong growth” in the A$130m (US$119.1m) Australian long-life non dairy milk market, as consumers start moving away from traditional dairy products.
“The quinoa milk is the first locally produced product available in mainstream Australian food supermarkets, i.e. not health food stores which typically stock imported products,” Freedom Foods Group brand portfolio manager Angelo De Blasio told just-food. “Imported lines are [also] available in very limited distribution within the independent grocery gector, which represent a small proportion of organised Australian supermarkets.”
The product will retail A$3.80 a litre and will be stocked at Coles and independent retailers, the company added.
Meanwhile, Freedom Foods has also added a breakfast museli to its range. The 3 Ancient Grains muesli has also secured a listing with Coles, as well as independent retailers.
