FrieslandCampina Domo, an operating company of Dutch dairy FrieslandCampina, and Warrnambool Cheese & Butter Factory have opened a new ingredients plant in Australia.

Responding to growing market demand for galacto-oligosaccharides, the companies officially opened the 50-50 JV today (27 May).

The new plant will process raw materials from Warrnambool into nutritional and functional ingredients, such as Vivinal GOS. FrieslandCampina Domo will market the ingredients from Australia to customers in the infant nutrition and the food industry, primarily in South-East Asia, China and the USA.

Great Ocean Ingredients will produce prebiotic galacto-oligosaccharides under the Vivinal GOS brand.

The production capacity of Great Ocean Ingredients is 15,000 MT of Vivinal GOS.
