Australian ginger and macadamia nut processor Buderim Ginger saw revenues climb 14% in 2008, as rising domestic sales offset weaker demand in the UK, a key export market for the business.
Buderim booked a 14.4% in revenue to A$73.8m (US$46.8m), despite a 4.6% drop in sales from the company’s ginger business.
An 8% rise in domestic retail sales, however, offset weakening demand in the UK due to the economic downturn and rising competition.
Net profit rose from A$671,000 to A$2m in 2008, Buderim said on Friday (27 February).
