Heinz has confirmed that it is on the look-out for acquisitions in Australia and New Zealand.

“Heinz is always looking for strategic acquisition opportunities and would consider making additional acquisitions in both Australia and New Zealand,” a spokesperson for the US food giant told just-food today (30 May).

International sales account for 60% of Heinz’ revenue and growth in markets outside the US has outpaced gains in North America, the company revealed yesterday in its full-year results announcement.

About 9% of Heinz’ global sales are generated in Australia and New Zealand.

The company purchased Cottee’s and Rose’s jams and toppings brands from Cadbury last year.
