German discounter Aldi remains tightlipped about its potential bid for a share of the Redcliffe Peninsula’s dynamic food market by opening a new store.

Rumours have been abundant about a potential new store opening nearby the Anzac Avenue junction with Sutton Street for several weeks, but Aldi spokeswoman Julie Alsopp said the company’s policy of not talking to the media prevented her from commenting.

The company has not thus far submitted a planning application, according to the Redcliffe City Council.
