Germany discount grocery retailer Aldi is continuing its aggressive expansion in Australia with its first move into Queensland this month.
Aldi Stores Australia has already moved into New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory and Victoria, and has almost 70 outlets in operation after just three years in business, reported the Australian Associated Press.
The company plans to open six new Aldi stores around Brisbane in the next few weeks, with a view to having 12 stores in the state by the end of the year.
Aldi has established a new A$60m (US$41.1m) distribution centre between Brisbane and the Gold Coast that will service the new stores.
