John Anderson, leader of the Australian National Party, has urged diary farmers to diversify their operations if they are to stay afloat.
Speaking at a campaign stop in Paterson, where the number of dairy farms has dropped from 92 to 47 since the industry was deregulated, Anderson pointed out that the Government has spent A$1.9bn (US$0.95bn) on helping farmers cope with the transition to deregulation.
