AUSTRALIA: Concern over GM contamination of organic produce
Scott Kinnear, of the Organics Federation of Australia , has urged the government to test all organic goods entering Australia for GM contamination. Kinnear argues that it is probable that much of the organic produce imported contains GM material because, in the US particularly, farmers find is extremely difficult to protect organic soy and corn produce from GM contamination.

The federation has suggested that in addition to the tests, Australia should establish a five-year moratorium on all genetically modified products entering the country.
