Two Australian meat processing companies, Consolidated Meat Group and Teys Brothers, have joined forces to become Australia’s second-largest meat processing company. The new company will be called Teys Brothers Holdings and will operate six abattoirs in South Australia, the Northern Territory and Queensland.

Cattle industry lobby group the Cattle Council of Australia has welcomed the move, which it hopes will stimulate market competition and improve returns for producers, reported ABC News.
