Port Lincoln Tuna Processors is pleading with the public to buy Australian tuna as it fights to survive the threat of foreign competition.


The South Australian cannery is experiencing severe pressure from a new overseas competitor which is canning its product far more cheaply in Asia, reports ABC.


To encourage public support, the company is taking out full-page advertisements in national newspapers.
