Kate Harris, senior brand manager for Special K Australia said: “Special K has changed. It’s taking a new, healthier direction in 2014 and the launch of Special K Nourish is the next significant step.”

The cereal, available in three flavours: Blackcurrant, Apple and Pepita; Wildberry, Raising and Pepita and Apricot, Cranberry and Almond is available at supermarkets across the nation at an RRP of A$5.99 (US$5.55).

Last week, when Kellogg announced its half-year results, it said sales in Australia fell during the second quarter but had improved when compared to the first three months of the year.

“The team has good plans for the second half, including investment behind the core cereal brands, new in-store activity and category-building initiatives,” president and CEO John Bryant said.
