The Lakes Creek abattoir locked into a bitter industrial dispute will not be re-opening as early as planned, a situation for which both sides of the dispute blame each other.


The Consolidated Meat Group, which owns the abattoir, is in discussions with the Australasian Meat Industry Employees’ Association over pay and conditions.


Meanwhile, Queensland public works minister, Rob Schwarten, insists that the company is merely finding excuses not to reopen.
