Australia’s Sam’s Seafood is to open a sales office in the US in order to boost its presence on the US market.

“Sam’s Seafood management is cautiously anticipating a turnover of US$20m for the New York office in the 2005 fiscal year, based on the company’s initial assessment of the current market climate on (the) east coast of the United States,” the company was quoted by the Australian Associated Press as saying.

The company said expansion to the US was driven by a strong performance by its UK office. Sam’s Seafood also plans to explore sales potential in Japan.
