Kraft Foods will construct a US$40m cheese and powdered beverages manufacturing plant in the Bahrain International Investment Park, according to local reports.

Kraft will start construction of the 60,000 square-metre plant in September and completion is planned for October 2007, when it will employ 250 people.

The company reportedly made the announcement at a press conference held at the Bahrain Ministry of Industry and Commerce, but the US food manufacturer was not available for comment when contacted by just-food today (17 July).
