UK-based private-label supplier Bakkavor is creating 100 jobs at its Bourne Prepared Produce business in Lincolnshire.
Bakkavour said the new recruits will join more than 1,200 already employed at the business, which produces around 180 items for major supermarkets including prepared bags of leafy salad, fresh stir fry mixes and prepared fruit.
Jonathan Zair, the head of operations at Bourne Prepared Produce, said: “This is an exciting time as we create additional capacity to meet increased customer demand.” Roles on offer “include production operatives, team leaders and other skilled positions”, Bakkavor added.
A spokesperson for the group told just-food today (18 April) the jobs are in addition to those announced across Bakkavor last year, which followed a recruitment drive that began in 2015.
Last month, Bakkavor confirmed it was proposing to close its Welcome Foods ingredients business in Nottinghamshire and starting talks with all 300 staff employed at the site.
In January, Bakkavor declined to comment on reports it was preparing to float the company later this year.
