Belgian discount supermarket chain Colruyt is gearing up for a price war following news that French retail giant Carrefour has bought out the domestic chain of GB supermarkets.
As well as boosting revenue by launching a catering service through its French wholesale unit Doumenge, Colruyt stressed that it is confident it can match any price reductions offered to consumers by Carrefour.
