Belgian grocery operator Colruyt recorded a 6.4% increase in group net profit for the first half of its fiscal year to reach EUR171.7m (US$225.1m).
Group revenue for the six months ended 30 September was up 7.9% to EUR3.55bn. EBITDA was up 8.8% to EUR315.7m.
The discount retailer said its retail division, which represents some 77% of turnover, saw revenues grow 7.6% to reach EUR2.7bn.
Colruyt’s retail division posted an 11.8% rise in EBITDA to reach EUR280.6m. Operating profit from the division was up 10.8% to EUR227m.
The company said it is maintaining its full-year forecast of EUR346m net profit.
