Belgian antitrust officials raided supermarket group Delhaize yesterday (24 April), a spokesperson for the group has confirmed.
“We had a visit from the competition authorities and we are cooperating fully with their investigations,” a spokesperson for the company told just-food.
According to Belgian reports, the enquiry concerned price-fixing allegations. However, the retailer declined to provide any information on the motivation for the raid while officials from the competition agency also declined to comment.
“It would be inappropriate for us to give details,” a spokesperson for the competition regulator told just-food.
