Belgium-based convenience foods group Ter Beke has booked an increase in volume and turnover in its third-quarter.
In a trading update, the company said today (4 November) it has seen a “strong” turnover growth in its ready meals division, mainly because of volume growth in lasagne and pasta meals and increasing sales under the Come a casa brand in Belgium.
This helped to offset the turnover decrease in the processed meats division, which was due to a changed product mix which caused sales volumes in the lowest price segment to increase to the detriment of sales in the mid-price segment, the company said.
In the first half of the year, results were negatively impacted by an increase in raw material prices and the delay in passing these increases on in prices.
A company statement said: “The results of the third quarter 2011 and our expectations for the fourth quarter 2011, allow us to maintain the prospects we communicated at the publication of the first semester result.”
