Grupo Bimbo has opened a new EUR50m (US$54.6) bakery in Spain.

The Mexican baker said the plant, located in Azuqueca de Henares, is the company's "most advanced" in Europe and its largest facility in Spain. It includes a bread line with the capacity to produce up to 15,000 units per hour. The 31,000 square metre site also houses a logistics centre that will, Bimbo said, strengthen its distribution capabilities in the central region of the Iberian peninsula.
