Cadbury Adams, part of the Cadbury Schweppes sweets to soft drinks group, is to extend its Trident bubble gum brand with the launch of Trident drops.


The company has spent 18 months developing the new product for which Brazil will be a test market. Trident gum has been marketed in Brazil for 25 years.


According to a report in the Brazilian business newspaper Valor Economico, Cadbury Adams is looking to take a 30% market share with the Trident drops which are being targeted at the adult market, competing with the market-leading Tic Tac mint brand.
