French national Eric Uzan will take over the reins from his compatriot Frank Witek. Uzan has already headed up a smaller unit in Mexico, gaining experience of the Latin American retail sector.
The Brazilian operation is considered to be of greater strategic importance to Carrefour, reported Valor Economico.
