US burger behemoth McDonald’s is to launch a range of children’s shoes under the McKids brand in the Brazilian market this month. The shoes will complement the brand’s existing range of children’s clothes.

They will be distributed by Alon International, which owns the right to use the McKids brand on shoes in Latin America. Alon already makes shoes under the Warner and Disney brands and generates annual turnover in excess of US$10m.

The shoes will be manufactured by Sfoggia, Proper and Fit Line and retail through more than 8,000 shoe shops in Brazil.
