SunOpta, the natural and organic food, supplements and health and beauty products specialist, has posted a 35% rise in revenues for the first six months of the year to a record C$391.4m (US$370.3m).
Net earnings for the first half increased by 44.1% to $10.6m, or $0.17 per diluted common share.
Revenues for the three months to the end of June rose by 33.5% to $207.97m. Net earnings for the quarter reached $6.75m, or $0.11 per diluted common share, against $4.34m, or $0.08 per diluted common share, in the corresponding period last year.
The second-quarter revenue increase was driven by a 37.9% increase in sales within the company’s vertically integrated natural and organic food operations, the company said.
