OTTAWA – The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Bishop’s Baking Company, Inc. are warning consumers allergic to egg protein not to consume Taste Delight brand Cream Filled Oatmeal Cookies. The affected product contains egg protein that is not declared on the label. This alert is of concern only to those individuals allergic to egg
protein.
The Taste Delight brand Cream Filled Oatmeal Cookies are sold in 200g size packages with a UPC 064509 00701 4. Each 200g package contains six individually wrapped cookies.
The Cream Filled Oatmeal Cookies are manufactured by Bishop’s Baking Company, Inc. located in Cleveland, Tennessee on behalf of the importer, Canadian Global Foods Corp. located in Weston, Ontario. The affected product has been distributed nationally and is being voluntarily recalled by the importer.
The consumption of these cookies may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to egg protein. There have been no reported allergy related illnesses associated with the consumption of this product. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
