OTTAWA – The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning consumers with allergies to milk protein not to consume YOMA Belgian Dark Chocolate and Volupta Chocolate fondue (Dark
Chocolate) manufactured by Confiseries YOMA Inc. of Ste-Germaine Station, Québec.  These products may contain milk protein that is not declared on the label.  This alert is of concern only to those individuals who have allergies to milk protein.


The products affected by this alert are:


1. Volupta Chocolate fondue (Dark Chocolate), 280 g size, UPC 0 60720 40520 2


2. YOMA Belgian Dark Chocolate, 45 g size, UPC 0 60720 30530 4


There are no codes associated with these products.  These products are distributed only in the province of Quebec.


Confiseries YOMA inc. is voluntarily recalling these chocolate products from the marketplace.  Consumption of these products may cause a life- threatening reaction in persons with allergies to milk protein.  There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products.  The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
