A&P Canada is to restructure its business in Ontario, according to local reports, resulting in 400 job losses.

A report in the Globe and Mail today (9 January) said that the Metro Inc subsidiary would convert seven of its nine large format Super C Stores in Ontario to its Food Basics discount format. One of the remaining two stores will be closed, the other will be rebranded under the Loeb banner.

Some of the employees laid off will be offered jobs at the rebranded stores, the Canadian press said.
