Blommer Chocolate has said that it plans to extend its Ontario plant and triple capacity to meet demand from several large long-term supply agreements.
The US company said yesterday (2 June) that it purchased the 85,000 square foot plant in 2006 to manufacture speciality coatings – including the Vivid line of colours and flavours, yoghurt and cocoa-based coatings – and protein-fortified products for the confectionery, snack and nutritional bar sectors.
“We’re very proud of the achievements of the Campbellford facility,” said spokesperson Rick Blommer. “Their award-winning productivity levels and management style really stand out as superior. The plant has grown in volume four-fold since 2006, and the recent large supply agreements have led us to this sizeable expansion.”
It expects to complete the extension by the fourth quarter of 2011.
