The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Golden Boy Foods Inc. are warning the public not to consume seven varieties of Vadilal Quick Treat brand canned vegetables because these
products may contain the bacteria responsible for botulism, a foodborne illness in humans.
The following Vadilal Quick Treat brand canned vegetables sold in 400g cans, bearing a Best Before date of Dec 2003, are affected by this alert.

The affected products are manufactured by Vadilal Industries Ltd., India, and packed for Golden Boy Foods, Burnaby, BC. The affected products have been distributed only in BC.
Golden Boy Foods is voluntarily recalling the affected products from the marketplace.

Consumers should dispose of the remaining product immediately or return products to the point of purchase for a refund. There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products.
The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
